My ServicesJapanese Interpreting
We offer simultaneous, consecutive, whispering, and liaison interpreting for all conference settings. This includes large, multilingual meetings and conferences, as well as business settings, investor relations, site visits, and negotiations.
We can also offer interpreting consultation to provide complete interpreting teams for any event.
We also offer document translation in conjunction with interpreting work. However, this is not part of our regular service package and must be negotiated separately.
What kind of service do you need?
This is good for large groups, especially when there will be more than two languages used.
Simultaneous interpreting must be done with a pair of interpreters. Because the interpreter is talking at the same time as the speaker, the interpreter will need a microphone that broadcasts to ear pieces worn by the listeners. Equipment can be provided for an additional fee.
This is similar to Simultaneous but is done when only one person in the audience speaks a given language.
The interpreter sits close to that person and gives the interpretation in a low voice, so as not to disturb the flow of the meeting. If this will proceed for more than 2 hours, a second interpreter will be needed.
This method is best for smaller meetings when only two languages are spoken. The interpreter will take notes while the speaker is speaking and then provide the interpretation once the speaker stops.
This means that meetings will take almost twice as long. But it can be done with one interpreter. Consecutive is best in business discussions. It is also used when accuracy is crucial, such as in legal or medical fields.
When a person visits a country where they don’t speak the language, sometimes they need help outside of meetings.
A liaison interpreter will meet the person at the hotel and escort them to the meeting venue, stay with them through breaks, and assist with any other difficulties that may arise during their stay. The number of liaison interpreters will vary based on the length of the assignment.
